Vattenfall, the Swedish energy leader wholly owned by the Swedish state, has been offering French consumers since October 1 an alternative electricity plan that is 12% cheaper than the regulated tariff and carbon neutral, in line with its goal of achieving a life without carbon within one generation.
Signed by Scenarii, a global communications and media relations agency founded in 2001 by Jean-Christophe Le Blay, the launch campaign highlights this economical and responsible offer through a film directed by Didier Barcelo (Henry). Standing out from the sector’s usual price-focused communications, the film skillfully plays on humor and Scandinavian flair, featuring a Swedish spokesperson for the supplier speaking in French about the goal of a life without carbon and the possible ways to achieve it. Each option presented is more absurd than the last — until it becomes clear that all it takes is subscribing to take that first step toward a carbon-free world while benefiting from a competitive electricity price.
